Re-meet Our Teacher Adri!

May 1, 2023 By Wendy Zerin

With it having been nearly a year since Adri has joined the Barn Yoga teaching team, it’s more than likely you’ve crossed paths (but if you haven’t, you definitely should try one of her classes!).

We’d like to celebrate Adri’s one year Barn Yoga anniversary by sharing a reintroduction.

Adri has always had a passion for sharing the importance of awareness and stillness in our modern day world. After studying the ins and outs of psychology, she was led on a detour and became captivated by holistic healing. Adri made it her mission to learn and obtain as many tools as possible to approach wellness in a more alternative manner.

In mid 2019, Adri was introduced to the Kaiut Method and, after practicing consistently for over two years, she became hooked! She could feel the healing benefits of this incredible practice for herself, both mentally and physically. The practice felt as if it was the embodiment of the awareness and stillness and she felt called to share it with others.

Adri’s passion led her to the decision to take a deeper dive… into the method and she completed her 300-hour teacher training with Francisco Kaiut in early 2022. Not long after, Adri received an offer she could not refuse, to begin teaching in Boulder, Colorado at Barn Yoga. Boulder has always been a second home to Adri; the studio is just a few blocks from the house she spent many summers in while visiting her grandparents.

She is thrilled to share this method of exploration, healing, and sustainability with those around her.

Teaching is the highest state of presence. To observe students looking inward, slowing down, and ultimately healing both body and mind is what motivates me class after class. The community at Barn Yoga has been so welcoming over the last year and I look forward to our continued growth together- on and off the mat.

Which Class Pass or Membership is Right for Me?

February 28, 2023 By Wendy Zerin

For Our New Students:

If you are new to Barn Yoga, we hope you will access our First Class Free pass to attend your first class, but we also know that after just one class it might be difficult to know which type of pass or membership to purchase next.  That’s why we offer a 14 Day Trial Unlimited Membership for new students at an introductory rate of  $40.  With a trial membership you can come to class in person or online as often as you like for 14 days before deciding on your next pass or membership.

For Our Continuing Students:

We offer a monthly membership at two different membership levels, the Limited Monthly Membership (12 classes per month) and the Unlimited Monthly Membership (unlimited classes per month).  Memberships offer the advantage of renewing automatically every month and come with added perks including member discounts on our workshops and special events as well as access to  recorded classes.  We also offer 1, 5, 10 and 20 class passes.  Both of our memberships and all of our class passes may be used for both in-person and online class attendance.

With all of these options, you may be wondering which option might work best for you.  In order to help you decide, we have created the chart below which indicates the cost per class based on frequency of attendance and type of pass/membership.

Prices effective March 1, 2023:

1 Class/Wk 2 Class/Wk 3 Class/Wk 4 Class/Wk 5 Class/Wk 6 Class/Wk 7 Class/Wk
Single Class Pass ($25) $25 $25 $25 $25 $25 $25 $25
5 Class Pass ($115) $23 $23 $23 $23 $23 $23 $23
10 Class Pass ($220) $22 $22 $22 $22 $22 $22 $22
20 Class Pass ($420) $21 $21 $21 $21 $21 $21 $21
Limited Membership ($135/month) N/A $15.53 $10.35 N/A N/A N/A N/A
Unlimited Membership ($159/month) N/A N/A N/A $9.15 $7.32 $6.09 $5.23

As you can see from the chart, the Limited Monthly Membership is the best value for students attending class 2-3 times per week.

The Unlimited Monthly Membership is the best value for students attending class 4 or more times per week.

Note that members at both membership levels also have access to some of our classes by recording to use when they are unable to come to class in person or online, as well as discounts on our workshops and other special events.  This adds considerable further value to memberships.

For further information about the terms of our memberships and class passes, please visit our Purchase a Class Pass/Membership page and click on the pass/membership you are interested in.

It is our sincere desire for you to be able to continue in your yoga practice without our fees creating a barrier to your class attendance. If you would like information about our sliding scale pricing or have any other questions, please contact us at [email protected].

With Gratitude to Pam

November 18, 2022 By Wendy Zerin

Our dear teacher Pam Novotny is spreading her wings and flying northward to Fort Collins!

From her earliest days as a new student at the barn, througout her teacher training, and in her time as part of Barn Yoga teaching team, it has been a pleasure and a privilege to have Pam as a member of our community.  We wish her great success in her exciting new venture and look forward to hearing her updates.

Pam’s farewell message:

It was inevitable this day would come. Now that it’s here, I have very mixed feelings. Still, it is time for me to say farewell to my teaching days at the beautiful Barn Yoga community.

As many of you know, my husband and I moved to Fort Collins a year and a half ago, and I found there was no Kaiut Yoga in Fort Collins! No community for me to jump into, no studio where I could attend class. What was I to do?

Well, I’ve started my own yoga studio. It’s called Kind Yoga NoCo, and I offer Kaiut Yoga classes to northern Colorado.I’m happy to say that each person who has tried a class has stayed, and my student base is slowly growing.

If you’re going to be in Fort Collins, come to a class! Text me to register. (No Punchpass yet.) If you have friends in Fort Collins or the surrounding towns (Loveland, Timnath, Windsor, Severance, etc.) please let them know I’m here!

I’m grateful to Wendy for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the wonderful Barn Yoga teaching team. I feel I am friends with many of you, and I’ll miss you! I hope to attend class online, but maybe not as often as before.

Please reach out to me if you wish: [email protected] or 720-217-3910.

Namaste,

Pam

The Body is an Ecosystem

October 15, 2022 By Wendy Zerin

As the natural world completes yet another season of growth and prepares in spectacular fashion for the great rest that is winter, it is important to recognize that the cycles of growth, rest, and repair, which we so take for granted in the natural world, actually occur within us as well.

The life forms in a natural environment do not exist independently of each other; rather, they co-exist in an interdependent relationship with each other.  Together they comprise a larger whole, a system that is itself a living entity, an eco-system.

Just as we have come to recognize that the health of our natural environment, as well as our own personal health, depend on our ability to engage harmoniously and sustainably with the ecosystem we inhabit, it is also essential that we understand the vital importance of engaging harmoniously and sustainably with the ecosystem that lies within, acknowledging the profound interdependence of the parts which comprise the whole, and honoring our own natural cycles of growth, rest and repair.

And so we come to our yoga mats…

What’s In A Name?

August 17, 2022 By Wendy Zerin

Ever wonder why we are called Barn Yoga?

As the “old-timers” know well, we offered our very first Kaiut Yoga classes at Kelly’s Barn, a one-of-a kind landmark in north Boulder, located just a few blocks from our current location.  We didn’t have an official name back then; everyone just referred to us as “barn yoga”.  When the time came to choose a legal name for our business, we decided to make our unofficial name official — and thus Barn Yoga LLC was born.

Then came the pandemic. The barn closed and we became a “virtual barn”, literally overnight, and remained so for more than a year. When we reopened in our new location above Lucky’s Bakehouse in June, 2021, we had already established a reputation for ourselves as Barn Yoga, and we also still felt a sentimental attachment to the place where it all began.  And so we decided to keep the name Barn Yoga, no doubt to the puzzlement of some of our newer students.

Nowadays it is likely safe to say that we the only “barn” in the entire world which is located upstairs above a bakery!
