About Online Classes

We are currently offering our classes both in-person and  online via Zoom to support both local and non-local students in coming to class in the way that best meets their needs.

What Students are Saying About Our Online Kaiut Yoga Classes

So happy Barn Yoga is online now! It’s easy to use, and such a relief to have yoga when everything else seems to be faltering.

Pam Novotny
Ft. Collins, CO

It’s an amazing gift to have the gentle, caring and intelligent guidance of the Barn Yoga team as I shelter in place in Mexico! Grateful that I’m very possibly being rescued from a right hip replacement down the road. Mil de gracias!

Terry Vandiver
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

I am so grateful to be able to be part of this wonderful Barn Yoga community.  It has helped me stay centered, healthy, and not so alone during these difficult days.

Bonnie Kogod
Washington, D.C.

I’m hooked on Kauit Yoga.

With the gentle guidance of Wendy, Aprille, Sara and Pam, Zoom classes work for me!

How do I get into an online class?

  • From your laptop, tablet or smart phone, go to the Class Schedule page on our website and click on the class you would like to attend to make a reservation.
  • All students who have made reservations will receive an email 15-20 minutes before the start of class which will include the link and password for the online class.
  • Click on the link in the email, enter the password provided and the online class will open on your screen.  (Note: You may receive a prompt to download the zoom app first before opening the class on your screen.  You are encouraged to download the app for a better zoom experience.) Be sure to open the class on your device at least 10-15 minutes before class  so you will have time to set up your camera so the teacher can see you and so you can settle in before class.
  • That's it!

What do I do about props?

Many household items can easily be used as props. Here are some ideas for home props as well as  links to sites where yoga props can be purchased. The email you receive 15-20 minutes before class will include information about what props are needed for the class you will be attending as well as how to set up your mat, e.g., at the wall, etc.

How do I set up at home for class?

If you have a yoga mat, please set it up with the narrow edge of your mat next to a wall. If you don’t have a mat, just set up on a carpeted area near a wall. Make sure you have room to extend your body fully on your mat/on the floor without bumping into any furniture/walls, etc.

You can access the class using any device which has a camera, e.g., a computer, tablet or smart phone.  The camera is primarily for the teacher to be able to see you.  Most of the time it will not be necessary for you to see the teacher as you will be listening to the teacher, often with your eyes closed.

It is best to position your camera slightly elevated, e.g. on a chair or table about four to six feet in front of the narrow edge of your mat and off to the side with your camera pointing diagonally toward either the right or the left front corner of your mat (See photo). If you don’t have enough room in your home practice area to set up with your camera as in the photo, the teacher can assist you in finding another camera angle before class.

What do I do if I need help?
