Meet Our Student – Caroline Peck

When Caroline attended her first Kaiut Yoga class at her climbing gym in Santa Cruz, California, she already had been practicing other types of yoga for many years.  She immediately recognized that Kaiut Yoga offered something quite unique:

I took one class and I thought:  I know that this is what yoga is supposed to be.  This is where it all started.  This is primordial yoga.

When Caroline and her partner Diane relocated temporarily to Boulder, they sought out Kaiut Yoga classes and found their way to the barn where they soon became dedicated students —  until they moved back to California and had to bid the barn farewell.

Then came COVID-19 and with it the overnight shift to an online class format. Despite all the difficulties of the quarantine, one huge silver lining for Caroline, as for so many others, was that Barn Yoga classes were now available online from the safety and comfort of home, whether home was in Boulder or elsewhere in the world. Caroline was able to join Barn Yoga classes once again, this time from California, and resume the exploration of Kaiut Yoga which she had begun in Boulder.

In the course of just months of practice, Caroline has experienced profound benefits, including the complete resolution of back pain and neck pain, some awareness of the possibility of relief from arthritic stiffness in her hands and an awakening of freedom in her feet and ankles.

I don’t know why, but I do know my back pain is absolutely gone. I was going to the chiropractor every week for my neck.  That pain is gone too.  I don’t know why…That’s what’s intriguing.

Although she had at one point officially retired from her career as a chiropractor and acupuncturist, Caroline missed her work as a healer and resumed her practice, albeit on a smaller scale. Nowadays, when patients consult with her about a variety of ailments, she finds herself wanting to recommend Kaiut Yoga to them.

As for her experience with  Barn Yoga:

I think the Barn Yoga teachers are doing a great job of being technologically savvy…I like having three different teachers with different backgrounds and different styles. You can actually do the same class two or three times and it’s so different each time. It’s great!… And I love that there are no levels. There’s no level one, level two, level three.  It’s so non-competitive.  I love that it’s so available to everyone.  That for me is pure genius!
